Halal World
In terms of the halal world, the Muslim population is increasing and spreading faster than we can imagine.
Muslim population which is 1.6 billion constitutes 23% of the total world population while Islam is the second biggest religion after Christianity and The world’s Muslim population is expected to increase by about 35% in the next 20 years, rising from 1.6 billion to 2.2 billion by 2030, according to new population projections by the Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion & Public Life.
Many people link Islam with Middle East and North Africa. On the other hand, 62% of the population living in Asia Pacific is Muslim. The number of Muslims living in India and Pakistan are higher than the number of Muslims in the Middle East. Density of the Muslim population is 93% in the Middle East and North Africa. Islam is the major religion in 49 countries. In Indonesia, where the population is 209 million, the percentage of Muslim population is 87,2%. With 176 million Muslims, India accommodates the second biggest Muslim community in the world. The said figure corresponds to 14% of the total population in India.
The annual trading volume of Halal Meat products all alone is 300 billion USD. The total market volume of the Halal Products is estimated to be more than 2 trillion USD with an annual growth of 15%.

Although the figures related with the Muslim population are as stated, parallel to the rapid increase throughout the world, some sources report that the Muslim population has reached 2.04 billion and competes with the Christian population. It is predicted that one out of every three people will be Muslim in 2030 when the rapid increase is taken into account.
